Boxing Information

JaxPal Boxing Fitness Program 

During the Boxing Fitness program, the students will learn their basic boxing fighting stance rather Orthodox or Southpaw. In addition, they will learn the six basic boxing punches. They will also go through intense cardio along with a full body Calisthenic workouts during the hour session. Each student will need a pair of hand wraps Boxing gloves for the use of training with hand mitts and heavy bag.

Workout days Monday and Thursday at our 3450 Monument Rd. Location (Ed Austin Park) and Northside location 2165 W 33rd St. Jacksonville FL 32209

Time 5:30pm – 6:30pm Monument Location

Time 6:00 - 7: 00pm Northside Location

Price: $175.00 for 6 months Session 1 January – June / Session 2 June - January

Note: The Boxing Fitness Program is a Non-Contact program

ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST HAVE A SPORTS PHYSICAL ON FILE.

JaxPal Boxing / Advance Boxing Program

During the Advanced Boxing program, the students will learn their basic boxing fighting stance rather Orthodox or Southpaw. In, addition they will learn the six basic boxing punches. They will also go through intense cardio along with full body Calisthenics workouts during session for conditioning. After the student learns the basic Boxing skills, they will move on to advanced training techniques to prepare them for Boxing Tournaments. During the time of training the students will be eventuated by the coaches and must be approved by the Boxing Coordinator to fight in tournaments under the PAL.  (All PAL Boxing tournaments are sanctioned with USA Boxing.)

Training Days: Monday – Thursday (Some Fridays and Saturdays when offer by Coordinator) At this time Only at 3450 Monument Rd. Jacksonville FL, 32225 (Ed Austin Regional Park).

Hours: 6pm – 8pm.

Price: $50.00 Registration Fee / $75.00 per month

Important !! If a student wants to switch programs the full registration payment of the new program will have to be paid.

Non-Training Dates and Equipment

Our Boxing program follows the DCPS calendar and will be closed when school is not in session along with all major holidays.

All fighters must have their own equipment (headgear, mouthpiece, gloves, and hand wraps) and we will maintain focus mitts, bags, and gym equipment for training. We have listed the pricing for the equipment we sell at the Police Athletic League.

PAL BOXING COACHES

Coach Mitchell (AKA) Coach Neil

Head Coach of Boxing / Advance Boxing

Coach Mitchell is a USA certified boxing coach who started boxing at the age of 17. He joined the U.S. Navy at age 19 and completed 24 years of service before retiring as a Senior Chief Petty Officer.  He finished his master’s degree in organizational l leadership during his time in service.  He joined the Boxing Team onboard 5 naval ships in 4 locations around the world including Norfolk, VA; Pensacola, FL; Honolulu, HI; Sasebo, Japan; and Jacksonville, FL. He won state in the welterweight division in Norfolk, VA. He honed his leadership and coaching skills when he led 3 of those boxing teams, working on physical training, footwork drills, and teaching punching technique. He trained with a coach from Roy Jones Sr. gym, while stationed in Pensacola, FL.  In addition, for 5 years during his time in Pensacola, he trained with both amateur and professional boxers.  He's been a coach with PAL boxing since fall 2021, not only teaching boxing, but also life skills.

 He currently works as a contractor for the U.S. Navy as a Combat Systems Training Specialist. 

 

Everett Weaver Northside PAL Boxing Coach. (AKA) Coach E

Everett "Coach E" Weaver has been successfully coaching boxers with Jacksonville PAL since 2008. He's positively enriched the lives of hundreds of boys and girls in our community through sport. Many of Coach E's boxers began in their elementary school ages and continued boxing through adulthood. With Coach E, Jacksonville PAL has celebrated dozens of state and regional champions and a few national competitors. A handful of Coach E's boxers have advanced on to professional fighting careers. 
Prior to coaching at Jacksonville PAL, Coach E was the head trainer at the Muhammed Ali Boxing Center at Tropical Park in Miami. He coached the Florida Gold Coast Association Golden Gloves teams and assistant coached the Florida National Golden Gloves team in 2004, 2005 and 2006. 

Coach E competed collegiately in boxing and track & field at Virginia Tech while studying for his bachelor's degree in Exercise & Nutrition. As an amateur he won multiple Virginia State tournament titles and competed nationally for the Potomac Valley, TriState and Florida Gold Coast teams. 
Today, Coach E is a father, and a Registered Oncology Nurse with Baptist Medical Center.  Inside and outside of the gym Coach E encourages and expects a winning effort and a winning attitude from all his boxers. Regardless of the skill level. He enjoys serving his communities and enhancing the lives of our people, young and old.
